Constructed in the 1890s, the two-storeyed house with postcard-perfect views of the Aegean, originally belonged to Koukourakis' grandparents who left Nisyros in favor of relocaitng to Athens in 1929. Fast forwawrd to today's era and we find the house completely destroyed from the earthquakes. Most of the furniture suffered from irreparable damage too since the roof had caved in way back in the 1940s. On a positive note, VIlla Calliope was fully restored by the architect.
